What is it?
The City of Memphis's Down Payment Assistance Program assists low and
very low-income families in purchasing their first home. Offered by the
City of Memphis' Division of Housing and Community Development (HCD),
the Down Payment Assistance Program targets five different groups:
teachers, police officers, public housing residents, section 8 voucher
holders and first time homebuyers interested in purchasing a home within the Memphis city limits.
Police officers must purchase a home in a designated zip code.
What do you get?
You can receive one-time assistance of $10,000 toward down
payment and closing costs at the time you purchase your house.
