What is it? MIFA Emergency Services offers several programs for the purpose of assisting individuals and families experiencing a recent, temporary loss of resources such as a loss of a job or income source, medical crisis, theft, disaster or other hardship, which have made it difficult for you to pay your rent/mortgage and/or utility bills. What do you get? If eligible, MIFA will make a payment directly to MLGW, landlord, or mortgage holder that you do not need to pay back. Assistance can only be provided once in a 24 month period. How long do you get it? The program offers a one-time assistance within a 24 month period. It serves as a safety net for those in crisis, not as an on-going source of assistance. |
