Dyer, Lake, Obion, Shelby, and Stewart counties have been designated for assistance from FEMA due to storms and flooding that occurred on or after April 19, 2011.
To receive Disaster Assistance, you must first register with FEMA. There are four ways to register:
By phone, call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., CDT. Operators are multilingual. TTY 800-462-7585.
By computer, visit disasterassistance.gov.
By Smartphone or tablet, go to m.fema.gov.
By visiting a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center. To find one, visit disasterassistance.gov or call the FEMA Helpline.
Registration starts the process to access possible federal assistance, such as temporary housing and home repairs. Renters should also apply, because they may be eligible for assistance with personal property losses and rental assistance if their rented house or apartment is no longer habitable. If you have insurance, you should also register with FEMA, because you may be eligible for help with losses your insurance does not cover.

Registering with other agencies, such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, your local emergency management agency or other organizations, does not register you for FEMA disaster assistance. Only registering with FEMA can start the process.
