If you qualify and have a childcare provider on record with DHS, you should be automatically enrolled for TCC. The Child Care Office at DHS will
send you a letter informing you that you qualify. Otherwise, when your Families First case is closed, you should receive a letter from DHS
asking that you schedule an appointment and telling you what documents to bring to DHS. If you do not receive a letter in the mail, you should call (901) 320-7420.
Parents must get their provider approved by DHS before they can receive the subsidy. Whether you use a babysitter or relative as your child care provider,
or a licensed provider, the provider must go and register with DHS’s Child Care Office if they are not already approved.

Need to find child care? You can call the State of Tennessee’s free Child Care Resource and Referral
Service to obtain child care listings, brochures, and counseling on quality child care at: 1-800-462-8261.
Keep your eye on the stars! The state uses a three-star system to rate the quality of child care providers. Providers volunteer for the program.
The more stars they get, the better their overall rating.
