You qualify for WIC if you:
- Are pregnant
- Have given birth less than a year ago and are breastfeeding
- Have given birth less than six months ago and are not breastfeeding
- Have a qualifying income (see the table below)
AND
- Are at risk for poor nutrition or health
Your children qualify for WIC if they:
- Are under age 5
AND
- Are at risk for poor nutrition or health
A doctor or nurse must conduct an examination to determine if you and/or your child are at risk for
poor nutrition or health. You can see a doctor or nurse at the WIC office or you can use your own doctor.

If you already receive any of the following benefits, you automatically meet the income limits for WIC:
- Food Stamps
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Medicaid
You will need to provide documentation that you receive one of these benefits when you apply at your local WIC office.
