Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association(MIFA) Emergency Services Program

Do you need help paying your current MLGW, rent, or mortgage bill?

Quick Facts
What is it?
MIFA Emergency Services offers several programs for the purpose of assisting individuals and families experiencing a recent, temporary loss of resources such as a loss of a job or income source, medical crisis, theft, disaster or other hardship, which have made it difficult for you to pay your rent/mortgage and/or utility bills.

What do you get?
If eligible, MIFA will make a payment directly to MLGW, landlord, or mortgage holder that you do not need to pay back. Assistance can only be provided once in a 24 month period.

How long do you get it?
The program offers a one-time assistance within a 24 month period. It serves as a safety net for those in crisis, not as an on-going source of assistance.
